Saturday 9th July
This evening Cath and I were invited to the Embassy Theatre to watch a show presented by the Lisa Jay Stage Institute. The show was titled Cirque De Class.

The Lisa Jay Stage Institute has only been in existence for three years but in that time has built a reputation that many others would be very proud to have. It’s 300+ pupils come from a whole variety of different backgrounds, inclusion is definitely the name of the game. The only thing they all have in common is that they want to perform and perform they most definitely did.
Most of shows at the Embassy I have been to last about two hours. This show went on for an amazing three hours. By the look of it the performers would have liked to have done another three, (well the younger ones anyway, the older ones may have needed a nice cup of tea first).
The show had a mix of songs I recognised and some I didn’t never the less they all got the Lisa Jay treatment and the show flowed perfectly.
I am certainly no theatre critic, so I ask four simple questions:
- Can the dancers dance?
- Can the singers sing?
- Can the actors act?
- Did I enjoy myself?
The answer to all four questions for me was a resounding yes, so in the words of Shrek
That’ll do Donkey, That’ll do.
A fantastic effort by all of those involved ( and there were many) and a huge well done from Cath and I to one and all.
