Saturday 21st May
This afternoon we had the pleasure of being the guests of Derbyshire Miners Childrens Centre on Scarbourgh Avenue.
The annual event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Derby and members of the 450 club. This club is for people who donate over £330 a year to the centre.

The Centre was started in 1891 to provide disadvantaged Derbyshire children with a holiday in Skegness. It currently provides 450 holiday places per year for boys and girls aged between 8 and 14 with an annual cost of over £150,000.
After a guided tour of the building and its facilaties we enjoyed a lunch prepared by centre staff.
The afternoon was rounded off with the children, staff and guests having a sing song to songs the children had been learning during the week.
