Thursday 30th June

About 4  months ago a new  shop opened in Ingoldmells, raising money for charities. Nothing new there charity shops open up all over the place. But this one is different. it is not linked to any national charity. Instead it’s sole aim is to raise money for local charities, any charity. In my opinion that makes this shop special, very special.

As I said The Support Shop has only been open a short while but already it is making a difference. This afternoon myself and  Councillor Paula Chapman, the Chair of Ingoldmells Parish Council, were invited down to meet Adrian and Helen and their volunteer staff. We also had the honour of presenting the first two cheques to local charities.

First donations awarded by The Charity Shop

The charities receiving their cheques for a whopping £2000 each were, National Coast Watch Skegness and the Lincolnshire Extreme Sports Association, better known as Xsite Skatepark.

A huge well done to all involved at The Support Shop the size of these donations will make a big difference to both charities. Long may your shop continue.
